Placements24 seeks a Production Optimization Engineer to maximize hydrocarbon recovery and efficiency on existing oil and gas assets in Upington, Northern Cape. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in production engineering in oil & gas
• Proven experience in production data analysis and optimization techniques
• Strong understanding of well performance, artificial lift systems, and production facilities
• Familiarity with production software and databases
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
• Experience supporting operations in Upington, Northern Cape or similar regions is a plus
• Commitment to HSE best practices

Responsibilities

• Analyze production data from wells and facilities to identify trends and performance issues
• Develop and implement production optimization strategies, including artificial lift optimization, gas lift design, and injection strategies
• Conduct well performance analysis, including decline curve analysis and material balance
• Identify opportunities for workovers, recompletions, and other intervention techniques
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers to align production strategies with reservoir management plans
• Work with operations and maintenance teams to ensure efficient execution of optimization projects
• Monitor the performance of production facilities and recommend improvements
• Prepare technical reports and presentations on production performance and optimization initiatives
• Utilize production software and tools for analysis and forecasting
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
