Placements24 is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer for an on-site role in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. You will design, deploy, and manage advanced network security measures to safeguard our client’s infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience, hands-on firewall/IDS/IPS/VPN expertise, SIEM proficiency, and strong incident response capabilities. Relevant certifications are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Info Security or equivalent.
• 7+ years in network security engineering.
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, IPsec, TLS/SSL.
• Hands-on with enterprise firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet), IDS/IPS, VPNs.
• Proficient in SIEM and network monitoring.
• Familiarity with NIST and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical and incident response skills.
• Security certifications such as CISSP/CCSP/GIAC desirable.

Responsabilités

• Design, implement, and manage network security infrastructure (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, WAFs).
• Develop and enforce security policies for network assets.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Monitor network traffic and respond to incidents promptly.
• Configure and maintain security devices with up-to-date intelligence.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security into network design.
• Stay current with threats and mitigation techniques.
• Deliver security awareness training to staff.
• Document security infrastructure and incident response procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotation.
