You will lead a team of engineers, drive strategic plans, implement security, disaster recovery, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives while ensuring minimal downtime and high availability for customers across South Africa.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in network operations with 3+ years in a supervisory role.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/EE or related field.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, routing, switching and firewalls.
• Experience with SolarWinds or Nagios monitoring tools.
• South Africa telecoms familiarity advantageous.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF), routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
• Proven experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios) and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Strong understanding of telecommunications technologies, including fiber optics, mobile networks (4G/5G), and VoIP.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
