Placements24 is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join a fully remote team serving Bloemfontein and beyond. Lead design, implementation, and ongoing management of advanced telecoms networks to ensure reliability, security, and scalability across distributed operations.

You will work with leading vendors and remote teams to plan and deploy robust solutions, with a focus on performance and best practices in network management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in network engineering, with telecoms focus.
• Deep knowledge of routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, IS-IS.
• Hands-on experience with equipment from Cisco/Juniper/Huawei.
• Strong IP networking, security, and troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and optimize telecom network solutions with high availability.
• Implement network security strategies including firewall, VPN, IDS.
• Perform advanced diagnostics and root-cause analyses of complex issues.
• Collaborate with remote teams and product/ops staff on deployments.
• Evaluate new technologies and propose improvements for service delivery.
• Maintain up-to-date network documentation and procedures.
