Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Mining Engineer to contribute to operational excellence in Centurion, Gauteng. The role covers mine planning, production scheduling, and adoption of new mining technologies.

It is a hybrid position with on-site oversight and remote planning tasks, offering a pathway to leadership in a forward-thinking, safety-conscious company. You will lead short- and long-term plans, manage drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling operations, and mentor junior

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in mining engineering with open-pit or underground operations focus.
• Proficiency in mine planning and design software (Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac).
• Strong leadership, communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee short-term and long-term mine plans aligned with production targets and economics.
• Manage and optimize daily mining operations: drilling, blasting, loading, hauling.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new projects or expansions.
• Implement health, safety, and environmental standards and monitor compliance.
• Utilize mine planning software to generate schedules and optimize resources.
• Mentor junior engineers and technical staff to foster safety and continuous improvement.
