Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Mining Engineer for our client in Centurion, Gauteng. The role focuses on strategic mine planning, design of open-pit and underground operations, and optimization for profitability while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in mine planning, proficiency with Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac and Datamine, and a PE designation is preferred. You will mentor junior engineers and work with geologists and operations to align plans

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in mine planning and design.
• Experience in open-pit and/or underground mine design.
• Proficiency in Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac, Datamine.
• PE designation preferred.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain long-term and short-term mine plans for open-pit and underground operations.
• Conduct feasibility studies, mine design, and optimization for new projects and existing operations.
• Perform geological modeling and resource estimation interpretation for mine planning.
• Utilize mine planning software to create detailed mine layouts and schedules.
• Evaluate mining methods, equipment selection, and strategies.
• Ensure designs comply with safety and environmental regulations.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Conduct economic analyses and sensitivity studies on scenarios.
