Job summary

Sasol Secunda in Mpumalanga is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to lead mining maintenance strategies. You will manage maintenance plans, budgets, and safety compliance while driving continuous improvement in reliability and uptime.

The role requires 10+ years in mining or heavy industry, an Electro Mechanic Trade Test certificate, and a National Senior Certificate with Maths, Science and English. You will coach teams and implement SOPs.

Qualifications

• National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) with Mathematics, Physical Science and English.
• Electro Mechanic Trade Test Certificate.
• 10+ relevant years of working experience in mining maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Manage and carry out engineering maintenance strategies and overhaul plans to meet KPI targets and ensure timely replacement/repair of equipment.
• Manage maintenance cost vs R/t in the appointed area and oversee the maintenance budget.
• Ensure equipment availability by effectively managing downtime, shift, MTTF/MTTR.
• Implement SOPs and ensure adherence to engineering governance and standards.
• Conduct failure trend analysis and root cause elimination; execute predictive maintenance initiatives.
• Support departments to achieve targets by coordinating planning and controlling costs within budget.
• Drive safety performance and SHE compliance towards zero harm.
