Placements24 seeks an experienced Senior Mining Geologist to join the technical services team in Benoni, Gauteng. You will develop and validate geological models, perform resource/reserve estimation, and interpret extensive geological data to support strategic planning and financial reporting.

The role requires 8+ years in mining geology, strong knowledge of JORC/NI 43-101/SAMREC, and experience with Isatis, Leapfrog Geo or Vulcan. Hybrid work with on-site validation is offered.

Formación

• Master's degree in Geology or Economic Geology.
• Minimum 8 years of mining geology experience focusing on resource and reserve estimation.
• Proven experience with geostatistical software Isatis, Leapfrog Geo or Vulcan.
• Knowledge of JORC, NI 43-101 and SAMREC reporting codes.
• Strong data management and interpretation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, validate, and maintain geological and block models.
• Perform geostatistical analysis and resource/reserve estimation per codes.
• Interpret core logging, assay, structural and geophysical data.
• Collaborate with mine planning to integrate models into plans.
• Conduct field mapping and sampling to supplement data.
• Ensure data quality through rigorous validation processes.
• Prepare geological reports, resource statements, and presentations.
• Mentor junior geologists and technicians.
• Stay updated on best practices in modeling and estimation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and reporting standards.
