Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Mine Geologist for a hybrid role in Cape Town, Western Cape. The position blends on-site fieldwork with remote data analysis to support resource evaluation, mine planning, and efficient operations.

The ideal candidate holds a Geology degree with 3–5 years in mining geology and proficiency in Leapfrog, Datamine, or Surpac. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are required, with willingness to visit Western Cape sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field.
• 3–5 years of mining geology experience.
• Proficiency in geological modeling software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and logging of drill core.
• Develop and maintain geological models using Leapfrog/Datamine/Surpac.
• Estimate mineral resources and reserves accurately.
• Collaborate with mine engineers on mine planning and design.
• Monitor grade control and provide geological input for ore processing.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental standards.
• Analyze geological data to identify exploration targets.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.
• Support site-based operations and remote data management.
