Placements24 seeks a Senior Mining Engineer in Welkom to lead planning and design for open-pit and underground operations. You will translate geological data into practical mining plans, collaborating with geologists, engineers, and management to optimize extraction methods and long-term viability.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mining Engineering and 7+ years in mine planning with Deswik/Vulcan/Surpac experience.

Competenze

Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or closely related discipline.
7+ years of progressive experience in mine planning and design.
Expertise in open-pit or underground mine design principles.
Proficiency with Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac or similar software.
Strong understanding of mine economics, rock mechanics, and ventilation.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.

Mansioni

Develop and optimize long-term and short-term mine plans based on geological, technical and economic factors.
Design mine layouts including access routes, stopes and ventilation for open-pit or underground operations.
Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new projects and expansions.
Apply advanced mine planning software to model and simulate operations.
Ensure mine designs comply with safety, environmental and regulatory standards.
