Job summary

Career Minded in Cape Town invites applications for a Mine Surveyor based in Durbanville. You will establish survey control networks across quarry sites and provide survey support for mine planning, production and stockpile measurements.

Reporting to the COO, you will work with Engineering, HSE and Quarry Managers to align plan and execution. Requires BSc/BTech/National Diploma in Surveying, professional registration or eligibility, drone/UAV certification, 5–10 years in mining, and a valid

Qualifications

B.Sc./B.Tech./National Diploma in Surveying or equivalent is required.
Professional registration or eligibility to register with SA body is required.
Drone/UAV surveying certification is required.
5–10 years’ surveying experience, with at least 3 years in mining/quarry/open-pit operations.
Experience with production and stockpile surveys.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain survey control points and networks at each quarry.
Provide survey support for quarry development, mine planning, and face and bench control.
Carry out independent production and stockpile surveys and reconciliations.
Establish a standardised Group-wide stockpile measurement system.
Support drilling and blasting—setting out drill patterns and recording drilled positions.
Maintain digital terrain models and survey databases for resource and reserve management.
Provide surveying for rehabilitation, environmental reporting, and infrastructure and civil works.
Establish and maintain a Group Survey Standard applicable to all quarry operations.
