Job summary

Placements24 is assisting a client near George, Western Cape, to hire a meticulous Mine Surveyor who will oversee all surveying operations for an open pit mine. The role ensures the accuracy of mine plans, volumetric calculations, and compliance with geological and engineering designs, contributing to safe, efficient resource extraction.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying or Geomatics.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Mine Surveyor in open pit mining.
• Proficiency with surveying software such as AutoCAD, Minex, or similar geological modeling packages.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-precision topographic surveys using GPS, total stations, and drone technology.

• Calculate and verify ore and waste volumes for production reporting and reconciliation.
• Monitor and stake out mine infrastructure, pit boundaries, and blast patterns according to mine plans.

About the Role

Requirements

• Experience operating and maintaining advanced surveying instruments and associated software.
• Strong understanding of mine planning principles and geotechnical considerations .
