Placements24 invites a Senior Mine Geologist to join our client’s established team in Sandton. You will lead geological mapping, core logging, data analysis and contribute to resource estimation to guide mine planning and exploration strategies.

The role requires a MSc or PhD in Geology with 7+ years in mine geology or related fields, and proficiency in Leapfrog, Micromine and Datamine. Strong communication and mentoring skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Geology or related earth science.
• 7+ years of mine geology, exploration, or resource estimation experience.
• Proficiency with Leapfrog, Micromine and Datamine and data management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and core logging for exploration and resource definition.
• Analyze and interpret geological data to delineate ore bodies and estimate resources.
• Collaborate with mine planning and engineering teams to provide geological input for design and production.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and geological models for stakeholders.
