Job summary

Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a Mine Geologist with 5+ years of exploration geology and resource estimation experience to join a team near Queenstown. You will map, sample, log core, and contribute to geological models and resource estimates.

The role partners with mine planning and operations to support long-term viability, with a focus on data integrity, QA/QC, and applying industry standards such as JORC or SAMREC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or Economic Geology.
• 5+ years in exploration geology or mine geology focusing on resource estimation.
• Experience with geological data management systems and QA/QC.
• Proficiency in Leapfrog, Vulcan or Datamine.
• Strong understanding of deposit geology and mineralogy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and exploration drilling programs.
• Log and interpret diamond drill core and RC samples to identify mineralization and structures.
• Perform geological data validation and QA/QC to ensure accuracy.
• Assist in developing and refining geological models using specialized software.
• Contribute to mineral resource and reserve estimation per industry standards (JORC, SAMREC).
• Collaborate with mine planning and operations to provide geological input for design and production.
