Placements24 in Queenstown, Eastern Cape seeks a meticulous Geologist specializing in Resource Estimation. You will define mineral resource quantity and quality, build robust models from drilling and mapping data, and support mine planning with clear reporting.

The role requires 4+ years in resource estimation and geological modeling, proficiency with Leapfrog Geo, Micromine, or Datamine, and knowledge of JORC/NI 43-101.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or Earth Sciences.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in resource estimation and geological modeling.
• Proficiency with Leapfrog Geo, Micromine or Datamine.
• Strong understanding of geostatistics and its application in mineral resources.
• Familiarity with international reporting standards (JORC, NI 43-101).
• Excellent analytical and report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Compile and validate geological data from drilling, sampling, and mapping.
• Construct geological domains and wireframe models using specialized software.
• Perform geostatistical analysis and grade estimation.
• Generate Mineral Resource estimates per industry codes.
• Prepare technical reports documenting methodologies and results.
• Collaborate with mine planning and operations teams to support reserve definition and mine design.
• Ensure the quality and integrity of geological data and models.
