About the role

Our client is seeking a diligent and analytical Mine Geologist to join their resource evaluation team based near Bloemfontein. This role is integral to understanding and quantifying the mineral wealth of their mining assets. You will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting geological data, including core logging, assay data, and structural information, to build robust geological models. Your work will directly influence mine planning, reserve estimation, and future exploration strategies, ensuring the economic viability and sustainability of operations. Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed core logging, geotechnical logging, and lithological description of drill core samples.
• Collect, manage, and analyze geological data, including structural measurements, geotechnical parameters, and assay results.
• Develop and update 3D geological models and resource block models using specialized software.
• Assist in the planning and supervision of exploration and delineation drilling programs.
• Contribute to the preparation of resource and reserve estimation reports in accordance with industry standards (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101).
• Collaborate with mining engineers and other geoscientists to integrate geological data into mine planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or Earth Sciences.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mine geology, exploration, or resource evaluation.
• Proficiency with geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, Datamine).
