Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer in Pretoria to lead complex mechanical projects from planning through commissioning. You will oversee multi-disciplinary teams, manage budgets, timelines, and procurement, ensuring on-time delivery and high quality across all project phases.

The role requires 8+ years in mechanical project engineering, strong leadership, and expertise with MS Project and Agile methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of proven experience in mechanical project engineering or management.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project, Agile).
• Experience with contract negotiation, vendor management, and budget control.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in both remote and on-site project environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and finalization of mechanical engineering projects according to deadlines and budgets.
• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables with senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
• Manage project teams, including engineers, technicians, and external contractors.
