Placements24 is seeking a Lead Mechanical Project Engineer in Pretoria to drive mechanical design and execution for power generation equipment. You will lead project teams, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure engineering excellence across the project lifecycle.

The successful candidate will have 8+ years in mechanical engineering with a strong PM background in power generation, along with leadership, problem-solving, and CAD/engineering software skills.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a strong focus on project management in power generation.
• Proven experience leading complex engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Thorough understanding of power generation technologies (e.g., turbines, boilers, cooling systems).
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects related to power generation equipment, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
• Oversee the design, specification, and procurement of mechanical components and systems for power plants.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, project managers, and site personnel to ensure seamless project execution.
• Conduct detailed technical reviews and provide engineering oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, and risk management strategies.
• Ensure all designs and installations comply with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical engineering issues that arise during project phases.
• Mentor and guide junior mechanical engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to communicate project progress and technical solutions.
