Placements24 is seeking a Lead Mechanical Project Engineer in Klerksdorp, North West to lead mechanical design for industrial automation projects from concept through commissioning. You will drive cross-functional collaboration with electrical and software teams and mentor a team of engineers.

The role requires a strong track record in mechanical engineering leadership, hands-on CAD proficiency, and willingness to travel regionally for project demands.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in mechanical design and project engineering, with a strong focus on industrial automation or machinery design.
• Demonstrated experience in leading engineering projects and teams.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) and PDM/PLM systems.
• Solid understanding of mechatronics, robotics, material handling systems, and pneumatics/hydraulics.
• Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel occasionally within North West and other regions as required by project demands.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the mechanical design and engineering efforts for industrial automation projects from concept to commissioning.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time delivery.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, and controls engineers for integrated systems.
• Develop and review detailed drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and installation.
• Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and performance analyses for automation solutions.
• Oversee testing and validation of mechanical subsystems and integrated systems.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of mechanical engineers and technicians.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and expectations managed.
