Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Project Mechanical Engineer to lead and execute mechanical engineering projects in Klerksdorp. You will define scope, plan resources, oversee design, procurement, installation, and commissioning, and ensure on-time delivery within budget.

You will manage cross-functional teams, interface with stakeholders, and uphold quality and safety standards while leveraging strong project-management skills and mechanical expertise for successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; a Master's degree or PMP certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years in project management roles.
• Proven experience managing complex mechanical projects, delivering scope, budget, and schedule.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and standard engineering design tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical engineering projects, defining objectives, deliverables, and milestones.
• Develop detailed project plans including scope, schedule, budget, resource requirements, and risk assessments.
• Coordinate and manage project teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors.
• Oversee design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Monitor progress, identify risks or deviations, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure all activities comply with engineering standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
