Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our client in Klerksdorp, North West. You will design, develop, and integrate mechanical systems for automated production lines and robotic work cells, using CAD to create detailed models and drawings.

You will collaborate with electrical engineers and project managers to deliver reliable automation solutions, perform analyses, select components, prepare BOMs, assist commissioning, and ensure safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of design experience in automation/robotics.
• Proficient in 3D CAD and 2D drafting.
• Strong knowledge of mechanics, dynamics, materials, and mechatronics.
• Familiar with pneumatic/electric actuators, sensors, PLCs.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and systems for automation equipment.
• Create 3D CAD models and detailed drawings.
• Perform kinematic and dynamic analysis.
• Select materials, bearings, actuators, and power transmission components.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to integrate sensors and control systems.
