Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Project Engineer with a strong mechanical background for our Midrand facility. You will lead end-to-end mechanical projects, planning, resourcing, and directing teams of designers and technicians to deliver on time and within budget.

You will liaise with clients and stakeholders, assess feasibility, and manage procurement, risks, and quality control to ensure compliance with standards in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in project engineering or project management within mechanical engineering, preferably in industrial automation.
• PMP or similar project management certification is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end mechanical engineering projects, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and schedule.
• Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessment.
• Provide technical leadership and direction to project teams, including mechanical designers and technicians.
• Oversee the design, development, and integration of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and client requirements.
• Conduct feasibility studies, cost estimations, and technical evaluations for new projects.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure clear communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Oversee the procurement of mechanical components and equipment.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory standards.
• Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and clients.
