Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for our client in Soweto, Gauteng. The role focuses on developing and executing preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to maximize uptime and equipment longevity.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in industrial manufacturing or processing environments.
• Experience with CMMS and maintenance planning processes.
• Strong diagnostic skills including root cause analysis and problem solving.
• Willingness to work shifts and be on call as required by operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs for mechanical systems and equipment.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for mechanical failures and equipment malfunctions.
• Oversee repair and overhaul of complex mechanical systems, including rotating equipment, pumps, and conveyors.
• Manage maintenance projects: planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and budget control.
• Ensure safety regulations and company policies are followed during maintenance activities.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering to identify upgrades and process improvements.
• Train and mentor junior technicians and engineers.
