Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Facilities Engineer to support operations in Vereeniging. The role oversees maintenance, operation and management of industrial facilities to keep them safe, compliant and efficient, coordinating with external contractors and planning with CMMS systems.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, 5+ years of experience in industrial plant maintenance, and strong project management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in facilities engineering or industrial plant maintenance.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in an industrial setting.
• Experience with project management and contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for plant equipment and infrastructure.
• Oversee facility modifications, upgrades and new construction projects.
• Manage budgets for facility maintenance and capital expenditure projects.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repair services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve facility-related operational issues promptly.
