Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our client in Rustenburg, North West. You will lead mechanical design, analysis, and prototyping across the full product lifecycle for large-scale mining equipment.

Responsibilities include CAD modeling, BOM creation, testing, and cross-functional collaboration with electrical and hydraulics teams. Strong leadership and 6–8 years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 6-8 years in heavy machinery or mining equipment.
• Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and refine mechanical systems for large-scale mining equipment.
• Perform engineering calculations, stress analysis, and simulations.
• Create CAD models, drawings, and BOMs.
• Oversee prototype development, testing, and validation.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
