Placements24 seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes in Nelspruit (Mpumalanga). The role combines on-site process observation with remote design work, driving improvements across production lines and equipment.

You will mentor junior engineers and ensure safety and environmental compliance. The position demands 7+ years in mechanical engineering, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD/SolidWorks), and a data-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on manufacturing processes and automation.
• Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing industrial machinery and production lines.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and understanding of machining, assembly, and automation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to process improvement.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience is highly desirable.
• Ability to read technical drawings, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams.
• Familiarity with safety standards and environmental practices.
• willingness to work a hybrid schedule (on-site in Nelspruit and remote)

Responsibilities
