Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC to join our client in Benoni. You will lead the design, project management, and oversight of complex HVAC systems for commercial and industrial buildings across Gauteng, ensuring performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with standards.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, at least 7 years in HVAC design and project delivery, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit MEP and IES VE.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of HVAC design and project management experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP and IES VE.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and specification of HVAC systems, including air handling units, chillers, boilers, and distribution networks.
• Develop detailed calculations for heating and cooling loads, airflow rates, and equipment sizing.
• Prepare technical drawings, schematics, and Bill of Quantities (BOQs).
• Manage HVAC projects from conception through to completion, including budget and timeline adherence.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure quality of installation and compliance with design specifications.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover of HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities
