Qualifications

• Experience with Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and HAP is required.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design and project execution for diverse construction and industrial facilities in Nelspruit . This role is essential for ensuring the efficient and reliable performance of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of mechanical components, from conceptual design and detailed engineering to installation oversight and system commissioning. The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent project management capabilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable mechanical solutions within budget and schedule constraints.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression for building projects.
• Prepare detailed mechanical drawings, specifications, and calculations using relevant engineering software.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, industry standards, and safety regulations .
• Manage the installation and commissioning of mechanical systems, coordinating with site teams and contractors.
• Conduct energy efficiency analysis and recommend sustainable mechanical solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior mechanical engineers and design staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on building services or industrial applications.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is preferred.
• Proficiency in mechanical design and analysis software (e.g., Revit MEP, AutoCAD, HAP).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and HVAC systems .
• Experience managing projects within the Mpumalanga region is beneficial.
