Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer in Mahikeng to translate complex engineering concepts into detailed, manufacturable CAD designs. You will lead design projects, mentor junior designers, and collaborate with engineers to ensure performance and manufacturability.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of experience, a mechanical engineering degree, and deep expertise in CAD tools like SolidWorks and Inventor. The role supports a hybrid work setup and ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Mechanical Designer.
• Expertise in 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, material properties, and manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, injection molding).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to visualize complex assemblies.
• Effective communication skills to work with engineers and manufacturing teams in Mahikeng.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical parts and assemblies using CAD software.
• Develop comprehensive manufacturing specifications and documentation.
• Perform tolerance analysis and kinematic studies to ensure design integrity and functionality.
• Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers to refine designs based on performance requirements and manufacturing constraints.
• Review and approve designs created by junior designers, providing constructive feedback.
