Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Design & Analysis Engineer in Upington, Northern Cape. You will lead the design of mechanical components and systems, performing rigorous FEA and delivering manufacturing-ready drawings and BOMs.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams on production feasibility and drive design optimizations while staying current with CAD/CAE advances. This on-site role offers growth in a dynamic regional industrial hub.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
4+ years hands-on mechanical design and engineering analysis experience.
Proficiency in 3D CAD and FEA software (SolidWorks, Inventor, ANSYS, Abaqus).

Responsibilities

Design and develop mechanical components and systems using 3D CAD, ensuring functionality and manufacturability.
Perform comprehensive Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to assess stress, thermal, and vibration behavior.
Generate detailed drawings, specifications, and BOMs compliant with industry standards.
Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to optimize for production processes.
Conduct design reviews, present analysis results, and propose modifications to meet performance requirements.
Troubleshoot design issues during prototyping, testing, or production.
Stay current with CAD/CAE technologies and methodologies.
Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and documentation.
