Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 4+ years hands-on mechanical design and engineering analysis experience.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and FEA software (SolidWorks, Inventor, ANSYS, Abaqus).

Responsabilidades

About the Role

Our client is a dynamic engineering firm specializing in the development of custom machinery and industrial solutions, based in Upington, Northern Cape. They are looking for a skilled Mechanical Design & Analysis Engineer to join their dedicated team. This role is essential for creating robust and efficient mechanical designs, supported by rigorous analytical validation. You will be involved in the full design cycle, from conceptualization through to detailed analysis and final design release for manufacturing. This is an on-site position offering the chance to work on diverse and challenging engineering projects in a region known for its industrial activity.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems using 3D CAD software, ensuring functionality and manufacturability.
• Perform comprehensive Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to assess stress, strain, thermal behavior, and vibration characteristics of designs.
• Generate detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) compliant with industry standards.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure designs are optimized for production processes.
• Conduct design reviews, present analysis results, and propose design modifications to meet performance requirements.
• Troubleshoot design-related issues encountered during prototyping, testing, or production.
• Stay current with advancements in CAD and CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) technologies and methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands‑on experience in mechanical design and engineering analysis.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and FEA software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).
• Strong understanding of mechanics of materials, dynamics, thermodynamics, and kinematics.
• Experience in applying FEA for stress, thermal, and vibration analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills for on‑site collaboration.
• Ability to manage project tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
• Familiarity with various manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, etc.).
