Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced mechanical systems for projects based near Richards Bay. This remote-friendly role emphasizes independent work, clear communication, and technical excellence.

You will mentor engineers, drive simulations with ANSYS/SolidWorks/CATIA, and deliver robust documentation across a distributed team.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
10+ years of progressive mechanical design experience delivering projects.
Proficiency in ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, and CATIA.
Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting.
Excellent written and verbal communication and virtual collaboration skills.
Strong problem-solving and commitment to technical excellence.

Responsibilities

Lead the conceptualization, design, and detailed engineering of advanced mechanical systems and components.
Perform engineering calculations, stress analysis, thermal analysis, and simulations using industry-standard software.
Develop and manage technical documentation, including design specifications, drawings, and testing protocols.
Collaborate effectively with remote teams, project managers, and stakeholders through virtual communication channels.
Drive innovation by researching and implementing new technologies and design methodologies.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers within the remote team structure.
