Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Management Accountant for a leading manufacturing company based in Benoni, Gauteng. The role focuses on in-depth financial analysis, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting and performance management to support operational decisions.

You will lead monthly management accounts, develop annual budgets, conduct cost analyses and build KPI dashboards while partnering with operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or CA(SA) is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in management accounting, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and techniques.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and deadlines.
• Experience in business partnering with operational teams.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly management accounts, including variance analysis against budget and prior periods.
• Develop and manage the annual budgeting and rolling forecasting processes.
• Conduct detailed cost analysis, including standard costing, variance analysis, and profitability assessments.
• Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track business performance.
• Provide financial support and insights to departmental managers to drive efficiency and cost savings.
• Assist in the preparation of financial models for new projects and investments.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data used for management decision-making.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as required by senior management.
• Supervise and mentor junior members of the management accounting team.
