Placements24 is seeking a Senior Litigation Counsel for a leading South African financial institution. This fully remote role requires a seasoned litigator to manage a broad portfolio of civil matters across SA, from inception to resolution, collaborating with internal teams and external counsel.

You will draft pleadings, develop strategies, and represent the company in courts, arbitrations, and mediations, while upholding high professional and ethical standards. SA law knowledge essential.

Qualifications

• Admitted attorney with 10+ years in complex litigation.
• Experience handling high-stakes civil litigation.
• Strong advocacy, negotiation, and drafting capabilities.
• Proven ability to work remotely and manage caseloads.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of civil litigation, including claims and regulatory investigations.
• Develop litigation strategies for each case.
• Represent the company in court, arbitrations, and mediations.
• Draft pleadings, notices, and court documents.
• Conduct discovery, manage evidence, and prep witnesses.
• Perform legal research on case law and statutes.
• Advise on litigation risks and mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with external litigation counsel.
• Ensure compliance with rules and ethics.
• Provide post-litigation analysis and process improvements.
