Job summary

Placements24 in Paarl, Western Cape, seeks a qualified Land Surveyor to lead cadastral, topographical and engineering surveys. You will measure and map land features, boundaries and infrastructure with precision.

The role requires registration as a Professional Land Surveyor with PLSG, a National Diploma or BTech/BSc in Geomatics, and at least five years of post-qualification experience. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires ND or BTech/BSc in Geomatics/Surveying.
• Registration as a Professional Land Surveyor with the South African Geomatics Council (PLSG).
• Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in land and engineering surveying.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cadastral surveys to establish/ re-establish property boundaries for legal registration.
• Perform topographical surveys to map existing terrain, features, and infrastructure for planning and design.
• Undertake engineering surveys for construction projects, including setting out and as-built surveys.
• Operate and maintain advanced surveying equipment (Total Stations, GPS/GNSS, laser scanners).
• Process survey data using specialized software and prepare survey plans, reports, calculations.
• Ensure all survey work adheres to the SA Land Survey Act and professional standards.

Education

National Diploma in Surveying, or BTech/BSc Geomatics/Surveying

Registration as a Professional Land Surveyor with PLSG

Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in land/engineering surveying
