Qualifications

• Qualified with a National Diploma or Degree in Land Surveying or Geomatics.
• 5–10 years' land surveying experience in civil construction.
• Experience on civil infrastructure projects (roads, earthworks, pipelines, bridges).
• Proficient with GPS, Total Stations, and Digital Levels.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Centre or similar.
• Strong ability to read engineering drawings and survey principles.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to work on site in Durban.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform site surveys, setting out, and survey control for civil construction projects.
• Establish and verify survey control points, benchmarks, and levels.
• Carry out as-built surveys and prepare accurate survey records.
• Interpret engineering drawings and ensure works are set out in accordance with design specifications.
• Monitor construction tolerances and verify completed works.
• Process and manage survey data using relevant surveying software.
• Liaise with site management, engineers, subcontractors, and consultants.
• Ensure surveying equipment is calibrated, maintained, and operating correctly.
• Maintain accurate survey documentation and reporting.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or a related qualification.
• 5–10 years' land surveying experience within the civil construction industry.
• Proven experience on civil infrastructure projects such as roads, earthworks, pipelines, bulk services, or bridges.
• Proficient in modern surveying equipment, including GPS, Total Stations, and Digital Levels.
• Experience using surveying software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Centre, or similar.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and survey principles.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Willingness to work on site in and around Durban.
