Job summary

Placements24 seeks a proactive Civil Design Engineer in Paarl, Western Cape, focused on land development projects including residential, commercial, and industrial subdivisions. You will design site infrastructure and liaise with authorities to secure permits, while collaborating with planners, surveyors, and architects.

The role requires a bachelor's in civil engineering and at least 4 years' experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, plus knowledge of SA planning regulations; Pr. Eng/Pr.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil design for land development.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software.
• Understanding of South African land use planning, zoning and environmental regulations.
• Pr. Eng or Pr. Tech Eng registration advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design site infrastructure, including grading, roads, stormwater, water reticulation, and sewer systems for land development projects.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Liaise with municipal authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals for development projects.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Collaborate with surveyors, architects, and other consultants to coordinate design efforts.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and the evaluation of contractor proposals.
