Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Java) to join our development team in Klerksdorp, North West. You will design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality enterprise software.

The role requires 6+ years of Java development experience, strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, and familiarity with microservices, databases, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience using Java.
• Strong experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate.
• Proficiency in building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle).
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and design patterns.
• Experience with build tools and version control (Maven/Gradle, Git).
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineers to define requirements and designs.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and standards.
• Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of applications.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
