Placements24 seeks an experienced Senior Backend Engineer in Klerksdorp, North West, to own backend development using Java and Spring. You will design scalable APIs, optimize queries, and ensure system security in a hybrid work setup.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of backend development with Java and Spring (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security).
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and handle relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with Hibernate and ORM patterns; familiarity with microservices.
• Version control with Git; knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and Docker.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, test, and deploy backend services using Java and the Spring Boot framework.
• Build and maintain scalable RESTful APIs that integrate with internal and external systems.
• Optimize performance, database queries, and overall system efficiency.
• Ensure security with best practices and security controls.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following industry standards.
• Collaborate with frontend, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues promptly.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and technology decisions.
