Placements24 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Paarl (Western Cape) to design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems with Java and Spring Boot. You will build RESTful APIs, implement microservices, and mentor junior engineers in a fast-growing SaaS logistics platform.

The role requires 5+ years in backend development, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and strong Java/Spring expertise. A hybrid work arrangement and relocation flexibility to Paarl are available.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional backend software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java and extensive experience with the Spring framework (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security).
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORM frameworks (Hibernate).
• Experience with messaging queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plus.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is beneficial.
• Experience with Git and Agile/Scrum environments.
