Job summary

Aspire Recruiting (PTY) LTD is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to ensure availability, performance, and security of core IT infrastructure. You will oversee on‑prem servers, cloud resources, networking, and enterprise backup systems while acting as the senior escalation point for infrastructure incidents.

Role requires 5+ years in IT with at least 3 years in Systems Administration, MCSA/CCNA and VMware/Veeam certifications, and a valid RSA driver's license.

Qualifications

• Education: National Senior Certificate or equivalent NQF Level 4.
• Minimum 5 years IT environment experience, with at least 3 years as a Systems Administrator.
• Certifications: MCSA and CCNA; VMware and Veeam.
• Technical: hands-on experience across enterprise servers, virtualization, backup architectures, and networking.
• Mobility: Valid RSA Driver’s License and reliable personal transport.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and optimize on-premises servers, storage, and network infrastructure for high availability and performance.
• Manage network components (firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs) and cloud resources with a security focus.
• Execute proactive patch management and advanced troubleshooting to prevent business impact.
• Own backup, disaster recovery, and restore procedures with regular testing for business continuity.
• Apply cybersecurity controls and respond to security incidents per procedures and SLAs.
• Act as the primary escalation point for complex infrastructure issues and manage access provisioning.
