Aspire Recruiting (PTY) LTD is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to ensure availability, performance, and security of core IT infrastructure. You will oversee on‑prem servers, cloud resources, networking, and enterprise backup systems while acting as the senior escalation point for infrastructure incidents.
Role requires 5+ years in IT with at least 3 years in Systems Administration, MCSA/CCNA and VMware/Veeam certifications, and a valid RSA driver's license.
Our Client is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to ensure the availability, performance, and security of our core IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will oversee on-premises servers, cloud resources, networking environments, and enterprise backup systems, while serving as the senior escalation point for infrastructure incidents.
Infrastructure Optimization: Monitor, maintain, and optimize on-premises servers, storage, and network infrastructure to maintain high availability, performance, and alignment with business needs.
Network & Cloud Management: Manage network components (firewalls, switches, routers, and VPNs) as well as cloud resources with a strong focus on compliance and security.
Maintenance & Patching: Execute proactive patch management, updates, and advanced troubleshooting to resolve issues before they impact business operations.
Disaster Recovery & Data Protection: Own backup, disaster recovery, and restore procedures—including regular scheduled testing—to safeguard critical data and satisfy business continuity standards.
Security & Compliance: Apply cybersecurity controls, assist with vulnerability assessments, and respond to security incidents in accordance with established procedures and service levels.
Escalation Support & Access Control: Act as the primary escalation point above Tier 1 Support for complex infrastructure matters, overseeing user provisioning, access management, and onboarding/offboarding workflows.
Education: National Senior Certificate (or equivalent NQF Level 4).
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of overall IT environment experience, with at least 3 years dedicated as a Systems Administrator.
MCSA and CCNA certifications
VMware and Veeam certifications
Technical Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience across enterprise servers, virtualization, backup architectures, and networking environments.
Mobility: Valid RSA Driver’s License and reliable personal transport.
