Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Systems Administrator in Benoni to oversee IT infrastructure, including servers and networks. You will be responsible for upgrades, monitoring, troubleshooting, and enforcing IT policies.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of server administration experience, proficient in Windows and Linux, with hands-on virtualization using VMware vSphere or Hyper-V. A proactive approach to security and disaster recovery is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years as a Systems Administrator, focused on server admin.
• Proficiency in Windows Server and Linux distributions.
• Experience with VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Strong networking knowledge and AD management.
• Excellent troubleshooting under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and operating systems.
• Manage virtualization platforms and ensure performance and availability.
• Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and core network services.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Monitor system performance, perform upgrades and patches.
