Placements24 in Bloemfontein is seeking a proactive IT Security Administrator to join our team. You will handle day-to-day administration and maintenance of security infrastructure, implement controls, manage access, and respond to security events in a hybrid setup with on-site tasks.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in IT security, experience with firewalls, VPNs, Windows and Linux, and a solid grasp of security best practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in IT or related field required.
• 2+ years in IT support or system administration with security focus.
• Experience with network security principles.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux.
• Strong security best-practices knowledge for endpoints and networks.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain security hardware and software, including firewalls, antivirus, and VPNs.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various systems.
• Monitor system logs and security alerts for potential threats and anomalies.
• Assist in the implementation of security patches and updates for operating systems and applications.
• Respond to security incidents and support incident investigation activities.
• Support the development and enforcement of IT security policies and procedures.
