Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior System Administrator to manage and secure the IT infrastructure in Mahikeng. You will install, configure, and maintain Windows Server and Linux environments, manage virtualization, and ensure high availability and security across servers, networks, and related systems.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on experience, strong scripting skills, and excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years in system or network administration.
• Strong Windows Server and Linux experience.
• Experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs.
• Familiarity with virtualization and scripting is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
• Manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Monitor system performance and implement proactive solutions to maximize uptime.
• Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Ensure security through patching and vulnerability assessments.
• Provide tech support and document configurations and procedures.
