Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a Lead Insurance Risk Analyst to join a fully remote team. You will lead a team of risk analysts, shape risk appetite, and develop frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, and strategic risks within the insurance business.

The role requires 7+ years in risk management, strong analytical and leadership skills, and familiarity with Solvency II and Basel III; North West context is noted, serving national and international clients

Formación

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in risk management within the insurance industry.
• Proven experience in leading and managing a team of analysts.
• In-depth knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., Solvency II, Basel III).
• Expertise in quantitative risk modeling, statistical analysis, and data analytics tools (R, Python, SQL).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, or CFA are highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote setting.
• Familiarity with the insurance market in the North West province is an advantage.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and implement risk management frameworks and strategies.
• Lead and mentor a team of risk analysts, overseeing their workload and professional development.
• Identify, assess, and quantify potential risks across the organization, including financial, operational, and strategic risks.
• Develop risk models and perform scenario analysis to evaluate potential impacts.
• Monitor KRIs and report risk exposure to senior management.
• Design and implement risk mitigation plans and controls.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Conduct internal audits and reviews of risk management processes.
• Stay abreast of emerging risks and industry best practices in risk management.
• Contribute to the development of a strong risk-aware culture throughout the organization.
