Placements24 is seeking a Senior Insurance Risk Assessor for a leading financial services provider in South Africa. The role is remote-first and nationwide, focusing on advanced data analytics to identify, quantify, and mitigate insurance risks across life, health, and general lines.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in insurance risk assessment or actuarial analysis, with strong statistical modeling and proficiency in SAS, R, Python, SQL, and Excel.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressive experience in insurance risk assessment, actuarial analysis, or related field.
• Proven expertise in statistical modeling, data analysis, and risk management techniques.
• Proficiency with risk assessment software and data analysis tools (SAS, R, Python, SQL, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments for life, health, and general insurance products.
• Develop and implement advanced statistical models to quantify exposures and forecast risk.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies indicating emerging risks.
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and actuarial teams to advise on risk mitigation.
• Monitor effectiveness of risk frameworks and recommend adjustments.
• Prepare detailed reports for senior management outlining risks and proposed solutions.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Stay updated on market developments and regulatory changes.
