Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Senior Risk Analyst based in Randburg, Gauteng. You will lead enterprise-wide risk initiatives across market, credit, operational, and insurance domains within a sophisticated risk team.

The role requires 7+ years in risk, an advanced quantitative degree, and strong skills in statistical modeling, Python/R/SAS. You will influence stakeholders and help shape risk policies in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in risk analysis or management within the insurance industry.
• Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field.
• Strong knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies, and tools.
• Expertise in statistical modeling, data analysis, and financial risk assessment techniques.
• Proficiency in risk management software and data analysis tools (e.g., R, Python, SAS).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Understanding of insurance products, operations, and regulatory requirements (e.g., Solvency II, IFRS 17).
• Ability to influence stakeholders and drive change.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement enterprise-wide risk management frameworks and policies.
• Identify, analyze, and evaluate risks across market, credit, operational, and insurance domains.
• Design and conduct quantitative and qualitative risk assessments and stress tests.
• Develop and maintain risk models and KRIs.
• Monitor and report risk profiles to senior management and committees.
• Collaborate with business units to embed risk practices in daily operations.
• Advise on risk appetite and tolerance levels.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and best practices.
