Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join its Richards Bay operations. The role focuses on designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing process control systems vital to production.

You will work with DCS, PLC, and SCADA platforms, calibrate instruments, and collaborate with operations to drive automation and safety compliance across energy and manufacturing facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering with control systems specialization.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in instrumentation and control engineering in industrial plants.
• Experience with PLC/DCS platforms (Siemens, Rockwell, Honeywell).
• Strong knowledge of process control, loop tuning, and industrial protocols.
• SIS experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement instrumentation and control systems (DCS/PLC/SCADA) for industrial processes.
• Maintain and troubleshoot existing control systems to minimize disruption.
• Develop calibration procedures and calibrate instruments regularly.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance to identify process improvements and automation.
• Ensure safety standards and regulatory compliance for instrumentation and control systems.
