Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join our Randburg team. The role focuses on specifying, designing, and maintaining instrumentation and control systems for industrial processes, with hybrid working arrangements.

You will work on feedback-controlled processes, calibrations, and documentation, ensuring safety, efficiency, and reliability across operations. Candidates should have a solid background in instrumentation, control theory, and automation.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering.
Strong understanding of process control principles and feedback loops.
Experience with various types of industrial instrumentation and transmitters.
Familiarity with PLC/DCS systems and HMI development.
Proficiency in calibrating instruments and troubleshooting control system failures.

Responsibilities

Specify, select, and validate instrumentation for process measurement (pressure, temperature, flow, level).
Design and implement control loops and logic for process automation systems.
Configure and calibrate instrumentation and control devices.
Develop and maintain control system documentation, including P&IDs, logic diagrams, and calibration records.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to instrumentation and control systems hardware and software.
Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to optimize process performance and reliability.
